The British Wood Flooring Company had the pleasure in supplying and installing a reclaimed pine floor for two floors of this Victorian House restoration project in Clapham. Working closely with the client and architect, we were able to source 7″ wide pine floorboards from an old children’s home in Buckinghamshire, refurbish these and install them in their new home.
Reclaimed Pine Floorboards were laid using traditional cut-clasp nails, directly to joists. When fitted, all floors were hand-sanded to keep the original patina and shape to the floorboards. Finally they were finished in two coats of wax polish and buffed to a sheen.
We also supplied and installed wide pine treads and risers to a staircase, finishing these to match the pine floorboards to ensure continuity of colour and tone from floor to stair.
